I took new pictures of my 3 cats today. None of them wanted to pose for me as I interrupted their nap time and they just didn't appreciate it. You, too, can have beautiful, lazy cats like these just by going down to the Humane Society. When they aren't sleeping, they are loads of fun.
Brother #1- Don't bother me!
Brother #2 - Stop looking at me!

Tall Ship, The Lynx (pic)
It never fails that when you go on vacation you get sick. I'm never sick at home!
So I'm spending a lot of time sitting on the harbor benches looking out at the Channel Island Harbor with a very bad cold. We had to cancel the whale watching adventure. But we were surprised to see a large ship with tall masts coming in from the ocean. A beautiful sight! As it got closer I was able to read the name on the flag. Lynx.
When we got back to our room, I looked it up because it reminded me a lot of the US Brig Niagara, similar but not as grand, in my opinion. It is a replica (but not an exact replica)of the Lynx (a Baltimore clipper schooner) from the war of 1812 and is an educational ship. It goes to Hawaii in the summertime teaching people how to sail.
I just wish the Niagara would stay home and go in and out of our bay in the summertime. It would draw a lot more people than being gone all the time. During the winter the Niagara is covered and wrapped up and during the summer it seems to always be gone on some tours. I've only seen the Niagara with sails up 2 times in the 7 years I've lived in Erie.
The Lynx below, unfortunately the sails have already come down before I snapped the picture.
