Inspire Me Thursday - Abstract Art

This is my first try at abstract art. I named it Spirit Guiding. In the center of the rogue wave is a person paddling a canoe and above is a spirit holding the wave up as the paddler continues on his journey through life. This is done with artist acrylics on a 5 x 7 inch canvas board.

Hey Linda how come you are not out fishing? Don left this morning for Kettle Creek and wil be back tomorrow night.

This is great abstract art! wonderful colors. I especially like the wave. Makes you feel safe with the spirit guiding.

I left a comment on this the other day so not sure what happened to it.

I was messing with blog settings a couple of weeks ago and today I realized the setting for comments was set for being moderated. I didn't check my email for the blog for a while so I didn't know there were comments waiting. I have changed the settings to work now. Sorry about that. And thanks guys for all the nice comments. It is fun finding new ways to paint and I finally finished a painting in time for Inspire Me Thursday : -)

I love the way this looks, and I love the concept! The combination of the blue and yellow works well, and the swoop of the wave is like a protecting arch for the figure...definitely very spiritual. I like that you created a scene that has a definite idea, but abstracted it. It's readable, but it also functions well as a design.

Love the philosophical touch! Adds beauty to a painting that by itself is already a treat to the eye.
